Ballet Recital

Here are some pics of Emily all decked out for her ballet recital. This year her class did a cowgirl themed routine. It was so cute!

I'm not sure if this is something that we will continue to pursue though. It is a year-long commitment, and to be honest, I think that is a lot to ask of a 5 year old. Towards the end of the this year I could tell she was getting bored with it. She actually asked me a few weeks ago, on her last day of class; if this could be her last class. Luckily, being that it was, I was quick to tell her that she was almost done.
Don't get me wrong, she does really well at it....she's a natural. But, I don't think her heart is in it anymore.

I wish I could have gotten some good shots of her on the stage, but they don't allow cameras or videos the day of the recital. I did take some video of her during her dress rehearsal, but you can really tell that is was the "rehearsal" and not the real thing.
She looked adorable in her little costume. Just thought I'd share.

Going to Kindergarten!

Last week, we attended a very important event. Emily's Preschool graduation.

Since this was the day after the "big break", our friends from church came over to babysit Andy for us. They really came to pray for him, but we managed to wrangle them into watching him too! It was nice, because the night was really all about our sweet Emmy.

The kids of course, walked in with "Pomp and Circumstance" playing in the background. Jimmy thought this was a bit much, but I think it is so sweet! At least this year I was able to control the tears. I wasn't as lucky last year with Peyton.

The kids did some songs and we watched a cute slideshow of pics from throughout the year. Then, they each got a diploma and a hug from their teacher.

Emily did a great job, and we are so proud of her! Now, in just a few months she'll be off to Kindergarten. More importantly, she'll "get to ride the bus"! Yay!

Happy Birthday Emily!

Whew! One down, two to go.....at least for this month.

Yesterday was our little Emmy's birthday. We did a Build-A-Bear party and it was a huge success! She invited 5 of her friends to join her in the festivities. There were lots of big smiles and excited faces in the bunch.

Each party member was designated a price limit. With that price in mind, they were able to choose whatever animal they wanted to stuff and dress. It was so much fun!

Here are some pics of the party! Enjoy!

P.S. Stay tuned for this weekend's pics of Jimmy's big 30th b'day! Tomorrow's the big day! Yay!

The Reindeer Farm

Emily got to go on her very first field trip on thursday to a reindeer farm. This was huge! Not only was it her first field trip, but what made it even better was that it was only for her.....no older sister! I was excited for her too.....it was a special day for her.

While we were there she got to pet and feed the reindeer, eat a snack, make a craft and play with all her friends.

Just when she thought it couldn't get any better than that, her friend Molly asked her to come to her house and play for the rest of the day. Wow! She was too excited for words! And remember....all this without her big sister. She had a blast! Here are some pics of the reindeer farm.

Little Miss Ham!

I had to record this for others to enjoy! Granted, it may not be as entertaining to y'all as it is for me....but, whatever.
The other day while driving in the car and listening to "Let it Snow" on the radio, Peyton, my oldest started yelling, "Mom, get Emmy out of the song! She's in the song.....get her out!" I wasn't exactly sure what she meant by the comment until I turned around and saw Emily. The video above captures what I saw while in the car. It makes me laugh so hard every time I see it! I make her perform "the face" for me at least 3 times a day for me now.

Emily's Ballet Recital

Well, today was the day! Emily's Ballet Recital. She has been asking me about it for weeks now and I was finally able to tell her last night that when she woke up it would be the big day!
She did so great! I wasn't able to take pictures or film the actual performance because they had hired a professional videographer. He was of course selling copies for the low, low price of $32 bucks a pop! I didn't bite. I brought in my video camera during the dress recital on wednesday and filmed it myself. I don't really care about filming any of the other kids, and I'm sure he didn't get the great close-ups of my beautiful little ballerina like I did.
Anyway, after the performance Jimmy went and presented her with a bouquet of blue and orange flowers (her favorite colors). She felt so special....and rightly so, she was the best on stage. I'm not bias! Here are a few pics of Emmy's special day!
