We're being invaded!!!!

We've known since we've moved in that there are deer in and around our neighborhood. That is one of the things I love about where we live. There is open space and trails all over, and it is normal to see a few here and there every day. But, since we've been hit with all this snow lately, they have been coming into the neighborhoods and streets more and more looking for food.

Two nights ago there were about 8-10 across the street from our house, in our neighbors yard enjoying the bushes. I got out and took pics from my car and chased them all over the neighborhood. They got pretty annoyed with me, but I don't care!

Today, after coming home from a birthday party, Emily and I saw about 40 deer, and no I am not exaggerating. They were everywhere! It was like they were coming out of the woodwork! I don't know about you, but for me, spoting a deer (even just one) never gets old! So, you can imagine my reaction when I got see as many as I did today. I went home to get Peyton so she could come see all of them, and I hopped back into the car and drove around the corner to take some pics. These are the pics I got. It was kinda hard to get some good shots, because they were right off the main entrance road into our neighborhood so I couldn't really stop.

Smell that beautiful new furniture smell!!!!

I'm so excited to show ya'll our new, yes you heard right, "new" bedroom furniture! I've been wanting my own bedroom set for so long now.....almost 9 years to be exact, and this Christmas I got my wish!

A few weeks before Christmas, Jimmy took me all over town to look for exactly what I wanted. I know it is hard to believe, but it actually was his idea. I know, I was shocked too! Anyway, we spent an entire saturday shopping and treking all over the Denver area. We managed to find the perfect set at our last stop. Isn't that how it always works.

Our saleslady was wonderful and seemed to enjoy the constant bickering between Jimmy and I while we were trying to decide what we wanted. I told her that I appreciated her sticking around while we were browsing, because I really needed Jimmy to pay for it.....and if I killed him, that would not be good! For those of you that are family and friends and enjoy that sweet smile and generous nature of Jimmy's, you can thank saleslady Kathy for saving his life throughout this entire process!

We purchased the furniture, knowing that it was out of stock until mid January. We've been waiting anxiously for its arrival. This past monday it was delivered and set up in our room. We decided to do away with the queen size and go for the king. That has probably been one of the greatest decisions of my life!!!! Here are some pics of my new beautiful bedroom set!

Blizzard 2006

Wow! This is crazy stuff! This morning on the news it said our town got 26 inches of snow! Jimmy has been shoveling snow steady for 2 days now, but it keeps coming back. I let the girls and Andy go outside this morning to check it all out.

As for my parents they somehow made it to Colorado Springs this morning and managed to get a hotel. I-25 is closed from Colorado Springs north for now so until it opens they will enjoy a nice bed and showers. I think by tonight they should be here. We'll see. I'll keep you posted.

Until then, enjoy the pics!
