Man Stuff

For the past few days Andy has taken to sneaking into our room while Jimmy is in the shower. I'm of course, still asleep....I cherish every minute. Anyway, back to the story. So, Andy sneaks in and usually scares Jimmy with his stealth like skills. He gets those from his mother, who in turn gets them from her mother. After Jimmy manages to muffle his girly squeal with the sound of the shower they greet each other...."Hi Son"......"Hey Dad".

Jimmy: "How ya doin'?"
Andy: "How ya doin' to you." (He always answers people with the same question and then adds a "to you" on the end.)

Jimmy says that Andy sits on the floor in front of the shower and waits patiently for Jimmy to finish. This morning Jimmy said he opened the door to the shower for him with a, "Here ya go, Dad."

One of the cutest things that has come out of this whole experience is one of the after shower rituals of putting on the deodorant. Jimmy said that while Andy was watching him earlier this week this conversation happened:

Andy: "Hey Dad, I think I have a little bit of hair under my arm too."

Jimmy: "Oh yeah? Let me see."

Andy (while lifting up his arm): "I think I need some of that stuff."

Jimmy (rubbing some deodorant under Andy's arm) "So what does that stuff do?"

Andy: "It makes your arm real cold."

After all the fun happens upstairs they make their way downstairs to enjoy some breakfast together.

Birthday and Baseball

My little man turned 4 this year! I can't believe it and don't really want to try. He's getting to be so big! This year is all about baseball, wolverine and well, everything else boy. He got a brand new bike, bike helmet, baseball glove, baseball pants and probably his favorite item.....drumroll.....wolverine claws!

On his birthday we took him to see the Rockies play the Dodgers. He was all about the atmosphere, but not so much into watching the game. Hopefully, as he gets older and grows an attention span that will get better.

He has his very first Baseball game this saturday and is very excited about playing on the same team with his cousin, J.T. and his good buddy, Dylan. It should be lots of fun!

No other 3 year old like him!

This little boy has it made! I can't even begin to tell you the things he gets away with. Yes, it is totally MY fault. I can't resist his sweetness and those dimples. Jimmy thinks it's down right disgusting, but he's been known to give in every now and then too!

He seems to have everyone wrapped around his cute little finger. Everyone at church, all my neighbors.....everyone! Jimmy took him out to eat the other night during Peyton's girlie party. My neighbors invited the two of them out since they were going. They went to Applebee's which somehow in Andy's head got switched to "Bumblebees". Jimmy said that they sat at the bar for dinner, but that he didn't sit next to him. Instead, Andy was placed between our neighbors and completely spoiled and catered too the entire meal. He came home with a pair of those cute little miniature cocktail swords and attacked his sisters.

Andy has always had his little obsessive compulsions. I don't know where he gets them? Ha! Lately, since we started potty training (which by the way is in the bag!) he has picked up a new one. Everytime he goes to the bathroom he has to put a small piece of toliet paper in the potty before actually relieving himself. I don't know why. If he forgets to do it beforehand he will surely remember to drop one in after he is done. He just tells me, "I have to do that, it's good". Weird! If you don't believe me, check out the pic below for proof. This pic was taken just today after this posting. If you can see, he placed the toliet paper in his shirt before doing his business so as "not to get it wet" and then forgot it was there. This is how he showed up in his room after going potty and ready to get his pajamas on. When asked why he did this, he said, "cause that's what big boys do".
Also, since he was little bitty. He has always been the type kid to just patiently wait in his crib or toddler bed for me to get him in the morning. I don't know if it just because he is the third child and he is just easy going or what. It baffles me really. Since he has been free of his crib and in a big boy bed for over two years now, he still does it. He won't step foot out of his bed until I, 1. come in to get him, or 2. yell at him to get up. It's crazy! I know most of you who are moms are like, what's the problem? Well, since the potty training came into the picture you could see my concern. He is in underwear all night now and doing great. No problems so far (knock on wood). But, just the other day, because of his weird stay in bed issue, I hear around 9:30am (yes, he held it for that long), "Mom, my tee-tee is about to come out!" He sounded very concerned. I ran in there half expecting him to be soaked, but he wasn't. I picked him and carried him to the potty. We discussed how he is free to get up and go to the potty at any time. He agreed and sounded convinced. Long story short. He still won't get out of bed by himself in the morning.
In short, this kid is such a joy! I don't know what I would do without my sweet Andy Pandy!

4 weeks and counting

Well, folks here he is in all his massive cast glory! I won't go into details with how awful yesterday was, but just know......I WAS MAD!

Today, I'm better. Andy is in his hard cast and seems to be on the road to recovery. I wanted to post a pic of him for all of you to see. His cast comes up to almost his chest. Not very comfortable, but very safe and secure for healing.

If anyone is wondering....he is doing his "KA-CHOW" impression, just like Lightning McQueen in cars. It's pretty cute!

Summer fun.....who needs it.

So, last night after bathtime Andy was dressed and ready for bed. He was told to go downstairs to see Daddy, while I got the girls out of the tub. Instead, he decided he would go visit his sister in the bathroom again. Once I saw that he had not done what I asked I told him again...."Andy, go downstairs."

Just as he turned to finally do what he had already been told to do, he slipped on the wet floor. I saw it happen and could tell that he had hurt himself. The way he landed I thought he might have twisted his knee or something.

I picked him up and carried him into the hall to check it out. He was crying while I was looking at his leg. There was nothing obviously wrong, so like I said I thought it was just twisted wrong. I carried him downstairs and sat him down. He was still crying and hurting. I asked him if he could walk and he said, "Yea". But then, after trying to stand up, he fell.

Anyway, long story short. I took him to the ER and they did some x-rays. I knew by the way he was screaming and crying that it had to come back with something wrong. I was ready for a torn ligament, or a twisted knee or something like that. Instead, they came back and told me that his leg was broken. His femur had cracked right down the middle.

Poor thing, he was in so much pain....but he was brave. I brought him home around midnight and put him to sleep. He was so tired.

He slept really good. He woke up this morning and called me saying, "Momma....I stuck." I went into his room and picked him up and in a half-cry, half laugh he said, "Tate chou Momma." (Thank you).

We go see the orthopedic doctor on friday to get the full hard cast. The doctor in the ER told me that he'll probably have it on for 6-8 weeks.

Summer is overrated right? Pray for our little man.

First time nerfer!

Andy had his first nerf gun experience today. I had to capture it on video, because he was so cute. He loved it! As you can see in the video....he has his sisters wrapped around his little finger. All he has to do is sit and give orders. Pretty easy life.

Just a little bit of Andy

I finally captured a little bit of Andy's personality on video for those that haven't seen him in a while. He is very active, yet very content. He just goes with the flow! If you listen close he does a lot of talking in the video. He has all the grandparents covered so far....we'll keep working on the rest.

Pics from the lastest happenings

Video Hosting - Upload Video - Video Sharing

I know I haven't been the best at writing about the details of any one subject for the past couple of weeks, but I honestly, I don't have the time. There is a lot going on, and I'm lucky to be able to stop long enough to sleep for a few hours.
Peyton started soccer last friday. Jimmy took her since I had to be at our church softball game across town. I went by long enough to take a few pics of her on the field. She got her shirt and learned the basics. Jimmy said she did great! The coach used her as an example of how to head the ball. She was very proud! Apparently in the Kinder Soccer league they don't actually play games, they basically practice for the first 3o minutes and then play each other for the second half. There are 24 kids, so there is enough for two whole teams. Peyton is on the green team. Jimmy said that she did great during the game portion of practice. She controlled the ball well, and passed to other team members. I can't wait to enjoy watching her myself this friday.

In other news...I am still trying to get things up and running at church for our Grand Opening of Creation Station. I finished a lot of the hallway details this past week and now I still have to do a little more painting in the Junior Junction room. I spent most of today putting together a Volunteer informational manual to give out at my meeting this sunday. September 10th is the opening.....just a few more weeks.

These last pics are from yesterday when Andy was looking cute. My favorite is the one of him holding up something that he knows he's not supposed to have with the look of, "What? I'm not supposed to have this?" It is the one that is posted at the top of this entry.
Also, the last one is of Jimmy and our good buddy from highschool, Jay Anderson. He was up here on business this week and we were able to hook up with him. It has been over 8 years since we've seen him so it was great to catch up.

When Andy attacks!

Andy is all boy! One of his favorite things to do is to sneak up on his sisters and pounce on them like a lion would pounce on his prey. He thinks it is so funny! The girls allow him to do this, thus making is hard for me to keep him from doing it to other children (like those in his sunday school class). I have to say it's pretty cute though.

Momma's Boy!

I just wanted to post a few pics of me and my little man! I hate to say it, but he's such a "momma's boy"! I love it! He just so kissable and cute with those dimples and sweet smile. He melts my heart. I just wanted to share with all of you my adorable little boy! Of course, nobody will ever love him more than his Momma!

How cute is he!

I just wanted to share a few pics of our little man. I've been slacking a bit lately. He is 14 months old and still not walking. I don't think he cares too much about starting any time soon. It is kinda weird since both the girls were walking on or before their first birthdays. Andy....not too anxious. He is pulling up on things and climbing stairs like a mad man...just not taking steps. He is doing a lot of other things though:

He will give you "schugers" on command. They're a bit slobbery but I love them.
He loves to play ball. As you can see from the pics, he gets really excited when you play catch with him.
He loves to swing in his new baby swing out back. Emmy loves to see how high he can go!
He loves to spend time with his daddy. Last night at church I thought he ways gonna have a coronary trying to get to his "DaDa" up on the stage.
He loves to eat....and eat...and eat!
If I'm forgetting something, I'll try to post more next time. Mostly, I just wanted to show him off, because he's so cute!

Happy 1st Birthday Andy!

Ok, so my kids been one for almost a full week now and I'm just now posting the pics from his party. I have a great excuse because I just got back home from my trip on Sunday night. I'm not as fast as a used to be!
Anyway, Andy had his 1st birthday while we were in LA. It was nice since for the 1st birthday it is mostly family anyway; and that's where the fam lives. It was a pretty simple affair. It was at my parent's house and we ate some dinner before the cake and ice cream. Grandma and Aunt Becky were there for the festivities. We had a great time just playing and laughing. Andy was a real flirt and I'm sure everyone's hearts.
I wasn't able to really let him dive into the cake because we didn't have a high chair for him to sit in. He did grab the cake as soon as we finished singing "Happy Birthday" to him. He licked his fingers and that was all it took to get him wanting more.....and more.....and more!
He got some great presents. Mostly clothes (which is what he needed most). He doesn't know the difference, right? As you can see Peyton was able to give us a few laughs during the party. Between her and Emily we can usually always stay entertained. Never a dull moment!

It was a great little party and Andy had lots of fun! I also managed to capture the "after party" pic of him unconcious on Nannaw's lap. He was pooped!
Well, I would write more, but the pics say it all! Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Little Man!

Finally...the crawling has commenced!

Well, just three weeks shy of his 1st birthday and my son decides he's gonna start crawling. I didn't think he was ever gonna do it. He has been perfectly content with the "rolling" until now. The crawling started just late last week. Well, I say "crawling", it is more of a catapulting process. He slowly walks his little toes up under him, and then "catapults" himself forward a few inches. I seems like a very tiring process to me, but whatever! I have noticed in the past few days that he is slowly transitioning into the "combat" crawl. This is the same crawl that Peyton had mastered by 7 1/2 months old. Really it has been fine by me that he has waited until now to be mobile. I have managed to go almost 12 months without the dreaded gates. I hate gates. Our house is a tri-level, so the thought of gates is so annoying. I'm gonna have to get 3 gates up in order to keep this kid of mine safe. Also, we've been training the girls and ourselves to not leave the basement door open. That would not be a fun fall by any means.
You thought I was kidding about the "catapulting" didn't you. Well, the picture above is proof. He has his own technique just like all my other kids. When Emily was his age she was already starting to walk. I think he's gonna be a slow walker. He's not even pulling himself up on things yet. I've seen him do it once. He did pull himself up to a standing postion a few weeks ago, but since then....nothing. But, like I said....I'm fine with the slow progress. Once he's completely mobile my life will get a little more difficult.
